Such a wondrous place in Auvergne for a romantic dinner and French cooking lessonsAugust 16th, 2012 | Posted by in French Restaurant
At the beginning of the summer, every year, we go to France. We need to go there in order to visit our family, who we are missing a lot, and also for business purpose.
Every year, we take the opportunity of being in France to enjoy a week-end in a High End hotel Relais et Chateaux (we leave our 3 children to their grand parents in order to enjoy a romantic trip !!!!)
We choose a place with a historic background and a gourmet restaurant (at least one Michelin star).
This summer, we decided to go to “Le Chateau de Codignat” in Auvergne (the very center of France).
We were there to take a little rest after an extraordinarily busy year in Orlando and also to have French cooking lessons.
When you enter this place you feel like transported in the XII century. Antique furniture, old armors, coats of arms….. everything is from the middle age ! And when you enter the bedroom, the antique canopy bed confirms the illusion.
We loved this place ! We were 100% satisfied by the welcoming staff, the wondrous gastronomic restaurant. We had such a great time !
Our preferred moment was the cooking lesson with the one star Chef “Mathieu Barbet” who, besides being a talented chef, is also an exceptionally friendly person.
The recipes we learned will be published soon in this blog.
